OUR WHY
In June of 2011, Chelle Cooper’s youngest child was born 13 weeks premature and weighed only 2 lbs 3 oz. Skylar McKae Cooper spent her first 3 months in this world confined to the NICU. The uncertainty of what problems may lie ahead mixed with the seemingly impossible task of finding quality child care/Daycare/preschool, Chelle quit her career as a Human Resource Consultant. This was the spark that ignited Chelle’s passion for working with children.
Chelle’s oldest son was in High School when he came face to face with the brutal reality of losing several classmates to unnatural deaths. The loss of these young lives made Chelle turn her awareness to the global epidemic of young adults struggling with mental health issues. She believed the key to helping actually begins in the very early stages of a child’s development by nurturing their ability to grow into resilient, confident and compassionate adults.
These events inspired the creation of Life Long Learners Child Development Center Inc. A place where we can build the foundation early on to instill resilience, kindness and self confidence. This is a place where children know they matter. A place where they learn they have the power to make a difference in others lives every day.
We want your children to never lose passion for life and develop into true Life Long Learners. We know the work we do here has the power to change our community and these kids have the power to change our world.

The beautiful lotus flower grows out of mud. Each day it rises from the murky water and blooms into something magnificent. Each night it returns to the mud.
This flower symbolizes our belief that every child, no matter what obstacles they face, has the potential to rise above them and become someone magnificent.
No matter what kind of “mud” yesterday brought, today is a new beginning.
